travel – 5 things to do in amsterdam.

5 things to do in amstedam, blogger, travel, weekend trip
I’m so excited to share my 5 things to do in Amsterdam with you guys. It was my first time visiting the Dutch city and honestly, I have no idea why it took my 27 years to visit the city for the very first time. Considering the fact that it’s only a 4h car drive away from my home and I love to travel that’s pretty odd. Last year, before heading of to Hong Kong, I already planned visiting Amsterdam, which somehow didn’t turn out. However, the drama turned into a love story with a happy end during the past week. In a heartbeat I fell in Love with the Dutch Capital. If I would need to describe Amsterdam in 3 words, these would be: beautiful, free, slowed down. I think Paris and London just got company in being my favorite cities in Europe – and the new kid on the block is definitively Amsterdam.
You can’t believe how sad I was when we arrived in Amsterdam on Friday night and it was simply pouring down, same situation Saturday morning. A boat tour around the “Grachten”, biking around town and getting lost in the tiny street around those picturesque houses suddenly seemed so far away. Eventually around midday the grey skies broke open and some sunshine emerged, turning Amsterdam into an even prettier place. We stayed at Hotel V Fizeaustraat, a bit outside of town with an absolute stunning interior and a huge room, but before I’m sharing a hotel review with you, there are  5 things to do in Amsterdam, including things to see & eat, you shouldn’t miss.

outfit – spanish summer

My brother owns a house very close to Palma in Mallorca and that’s why I get to enjoy quite some bit the Spanish summer this year. In less than 3 months, I have visited the island already twice. It’s so much more than a pure party island. It a rather beautiful place and with an amazing landscape. Plus, the Spanish cuisine is one of my favorites. This time around, I loved exploring the neighborhood and the area around the house. While my dad was giving me the full tour of the house, I found this amazing little street flanked by tons of cacti.  read more

Those who follow along on Instagram have probably seen that I spend a few days in Mallorca last week. My family was invited to a wedding and I was watching my baby nephew, who’s now four months old. I flew to Berlin a couple of days after he was born and he was so, so tiny back then. Now four months later he got so big and it was so much fun getting to know the newest member to our family a little bit better – he’s already such a personality and has a killer smile (I already know he’ll be such a heartbreaker once he grows up!). But let me tell you, a baby is such a full-time job. You moms all around the world are so impressive  read more

cravings – Amsterdam city trip

travel, shopping, ray ban, vans, maje, levis, olympus, Amsterdam city trip

Next Friday, I’m going to board a plane towards Amsterdam and oh boy, I can’t tell you how excited I am. As you know, I love to travel and have seen some far, far away places. However, when it comes to major European capitals there are still quite a few that I need to tick off. Amsterdam being one of them. You are probably now wondering why I’m so excited? Well to me, when I think of the Dutch city I imagine a cool, laid back place with everyone being super stylish, loads of cute shops and coffee places (not the be confused with the coffee shops…). I will for sure tell you how I’ve liked it afterwards, but for now a little outfit inspiration for an Amsterdam city trip.
